Captain Jim Schonauer is a full time, energetic professional charter captain with over 40 years experience.  He was one of the first captains to charter the deep water off Fairport Harbor starting in 1985.  Captain Jim was a founding member of the North Coast Charter Boat Association. He has won and been a high place winner in numerous tournaments.  Captain Jim knows how to find and catch fish.

Captain Jim Bio
An Avid Outdoorsmen, Captain Jim grew up in Euclid, Ohio in a house that was located about 500 feet from the shores of Lake Erie. From an early age he had been “bitten by the bug” and gained his passion for fishing and the outdoors.  Captain Jim is an avid outdoorsmen, second only to his love of fishing is his love for hunting.  This passion was also shared his Dad and 3 brothers who would spend countless hours fishing, hunting and camping as a family.

Captain Jim is a retired teacher and coach from Mentor High School.  He was the head wrestling coach at Mentor High School for 14 years.
